details. 14th March - Last Cross Country in the Leisure Centre League. Lliswerry hosting, using the course over at Rogerstone School. A Few Races to Report On:Reverse 10 - Dave Bassett is the only
Griff. Vest that appears on the official results - 1hr 23.24. Longtown Fell Race - Jan and Stewart both competed in this fell race, one of the Winter Hill Series. Stewart just pipped Jan by coming in 34th to her 39th position Dimitri ran the last Gwent Cross Country at Blaize Castle, coming in 59th position. Bath Half. Well done to Stef for his 1hr 14.55 finishing time, over 10,000 runners did this event. Gloucester 20 - Good turn out for Griffithstown, Well done to Mark Sutton, Peter Roberts, Dave Bassett, Julie Burchell and Wendy Rees. Race results are in full on the Results Page.
Bryn Bach Parc XCAnother great result from Stef - no messing, he led from start to finish. Only one race left in the cross country series, it's Liswerry's run, but they are using the course at Rogerstone, on 14 March. Chepstow Leisure League Cross CountryAnother new course, not as technical as Pontypool, which
suited those faster road runners - Stef, after only 2 previous cross
countries had the confidence to go for it, and led virtually from start
to finish. Adrian Ellis Memorial Race21st running of this cross country race, dedicated to Adrian Ellis, a young policeman who also ran with Griffithstown Harriers, before he was killed in a motoring accident. Stef put in a sterling performance, 2nd overall, and 1st
Vet. Leisure League XCFairwater Runners event at the park was a resounding success, the course was tough and technical, or as Mark Fry announced, "it's a real cross country, so if you don't fancy it, drop out on the start line"
Lliswerry 8 Great performances from all who entered.
Blaenbran Blast Saturday 30th January.This was a brand new race on the mountain above Cwmbran. Starting just above the Queens Pub, the runners went up to circle the forestry and then climb up to the mast. The descent to the finish was steep and challenging for even the most experienced fell runners. Griff team consisted of:
