Griffithstown Harriers was set up in September 1983 and is recognised as a well-established running club in South Wales.
We are based at Glan-yr-Afon Leisure Ltd, on Edlogan Way, Cwmbran, Torfaen. We are within easy reach of Newport & Pontypool. We are a friendly social club, welcoming runners of all abilities who wish to participate in road running, multi terrain, fell running and cross country events. The club participates in the Gwent League and the Gwent Leisure Centre Leagues.

Annual Membership is £30 - or £60 to include membership of Glan Yr Afon Leisure Club.
Payment may be made by standing order, £7.50 or £15 per quarter

Covering some 16 miles, climbing 4,500 feet, the course starts at Llanbedr Village, and takes you up and over 3 mountains. Crug Mawr, Sugar Loaf, and the Blorenge. The finish, with welcome showers and refreshments, is at Blaenafon Rugby Club.

This year's special event is sponsored by Andrew Dicken Paving.

Sorbrook Logo

If you enjoy a challenging run, this is the one for you.

A 10k road race held in memory of one of our members, Richard Davies.

The route follows a circular course around Sorbrook, Llandegveth Reservoir and New Inn.

Proceeds from this years race will be donated to St David's Foundation Hospice Care.

Boxing Day Fancy Dress

5 Mile Fun Run

Christmas Pudding.

Our informal atmosphere for this race makes it a popular event enjoyed by many every year.

A two lap course around Croesyceiliog and Llanyrafon.
After the run there are refreshments in the Glan Yr Afon Club.

Prizes for the first man and first lady home, best fancy dress prize, and many spot prizes.
