Griffithstown Harriers was set up in September 1983 and is recognised as a well-established running club. We are based at The Oasis Club on Edlogan Way, Cwmbran, Torfaen. We welcome anyone who wants to run with us no matter what standard you are. The club participates in local leagues.

Nick finishing strongly in the Cardiff Half Marathon.
The following weekend he usurped this performance by coming home in third place in the City of Newport Half Marathon!

TO CELEBRATE THE CLUBS 30th ANNIVERSARY THERE WILL BE AN INFORMAL GET TOGETHER FOR PAST AND PRESENT MEMBERS AT 7:30PM ON FRIDAY 12th JULY 2013 AT THE NEWLY OPENED OLIVE TREE SPORTS BAR (THE OLD GIRLING CLUB NEXT TO THE OASIS CLUB ON EDLOGAN WAY)

Friday 20th September, 30th Anniversary Dinner at Pontypool Golf Club.
This will be a black tie/ posh frocks event to recognise our 30 years as a club.
Cost will probably be about £20pp, including some free wine and disco.
We did look at other venues, but Pontypool Golf Club was by far the best value and most accommodating.
Final arrangements closer to the date, but for now please keep this date free -- no excuses!
And if you are in touch with any past members who might be interested, please let them know.

The committee are also looking at the possibility of a less formal get together with past members.
Perhaps more a beer and sarnies night ?
Will keep you informed as soon as we firm up on the arrangements.

Inviting all members and friends to join the club on its weekend away to celebrate the clubs 30th anniversary.

We will be travelling to Bournemouth on Saturday October 5th bright and early, coming home on Sunday the 6th .
As most of you know there is a half and full marathon on the Sunday, and on the Saturday a " Supersonic 10k" run motivated by local music and at dusk if you fancy the 5k you will be supplied with luminous wrist bands and laces. Of course you do not have to run you could just come and have fun!

We will organise accomodation and a bus there and back for anyone interested (race entery is your responsibility) what we need now is numbers to enable us to get prices for you all to consider, so please let Kip know to register your interest and please inform him if you are prepared to share a room and whom you will be sharing with. Training.

The Training Schedule is designed to compliment member's own training, and states what is planned for Club nights. We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Oasis Leisure Club, Edlogan Way, Cwmbran for a 7 pm start.

HAS ALSO WON THE WELSH POWER LIFTING CHAMPIONSHIP IN HER CATEGORY AND
BEEN SELECTED TO REPRESENT WALES IN THE FOUR NATIONS COMPETION LATER THIS YEAR
